Our story
A small shop that bakes all day
Sweet Bakery is a narrow shopfront on one of Amsterdam’s busiest streets, run by people who would rather bake something twice a day than once.
Right in the thick of it
We sit on the Nieuwendijk, one of Amsterdam’s oldest and busiest little streets. Tourists, locals and students all slow down here for something warm, and that is exactly what we are here for.
Baked through the day, not ahead of it
From the first croissant in the morning to the last waffle late at night, the ovens never really cool down. Smaller batches, more often, so what you buy at nine in the evening was not made at six in the morning.
Where the Dubai croissant came from
A customer asked for it, we made one, and then we made four hundred. The pistachio cream and kadayif are prepared in-house, and the same filling now goes into our crêpes and stroopwafels.
